World Circus Day of 2014 in 5 provinces of Afghanistan, Kabul, Nanagarhar, Bamyan, Herat and Balkh:

Kabul:

50 of top Afghan Circus Artists exhibited their brilliant skills such as juggling, singing, acrobatic and unicycle for hundreds of audience and media in a celebration of the Art of Happiness in the World Circus Day.  The level of skills and the number of children and the youth practicing different circus arts in Afghanistan has been increased enormously in the last few years.

Nangarhar (Jalalabad):

MMCC is proud to announce that in the World Circus Day 2014 we inaugurated a new regional Social Circus Center in the eastern province of Nangarhar (Jalalabad City) in collaboration with Ministry of Education of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. This is the second center in Jalalabad where the local community and the official have all been very supportive of the activities. The center was inaugurated by official governmental representatives and was covered by the local media. The children artists of Nangarhar have shown very great talent and determination and have improved them enormously and are already holding some of the national records of annual circus competitions.

Bamyan:

The junior circus artists of Bamyan celebrated the World Circus Day with their performances and very supportive and encouraging speech of the head of Department of Ministry of Culture in Bamyan. The Junior Artists have developed a very high performing skill as well as social status in the region as an essential part of all cultural events and festivities. WCD of 2014 was a great opportunity for the local media as well as the governmental officials to focus on the circus for the children and the youth as a very strong social and cultural tool for making a better community.

Herat:

MMCC inaugurated its new center in Herat (western Afghan province) in the World Circus Day 2014. In this inauguration in presence of official representatives from the ministries and NGOs the children and the youth artists made performances and entertained the guests. This new regional center will be providing Social Circus as well as Children Media and cultural services for the entire western region of Afghanistan. We are all so excited and happy for this new center since it has a great capacity of making so many children happy and inspire many adults to make joyful, cultural, and fun activities for children of the entire region.

Balkh (Mazar-e-Sharif):

In the World Circus Day of 2014, MMCC inaugurated another new Social Circus center in Mazar-e-Sharif (Northern Province of Balkh). This new center with a very close collaboration with Ministry of Education of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan will be introducing the Social Circus activities to the whole region and train children and organize performing teams for this region. Local official and representatives from ministries participated in this opening and encouraged both children and our colleagues in our efforts in making a joyful community and emphasized on the importance of the World Circus Day.
