1st of August 2005 - Counting down for Europe
‘How many days is it now?’ It is the fifth day in a row Parisa knocks our door and asks this question. Like the 11 other children she is too exited to wait any more.

For three weeks Parisa, Vasila, Sonam, Abeda, Lida, Ahmad, AliSina, Moman, Gulab, Maiwand, Noorshah, Mansoor and … have been working from early morning to late afternoon to get ready for the Europe tour.

Together with Shaher, who is in charge of the children while they are abroad, Seth Bloom, an American artist and keen MMCC friend has helped to put together a perfect show for the tour. More than anything though the upcoming tour to Germany and Denmark is a result of all MMCC children and staffs enthusiasm and efforts to present an Afghanistan full of joy, hope and potentials for the European audience

The 12 children who are going to Europe are selected among more than 80 talented MMCC circus children. They have all performed at schools in Kabul on regular bases since last year together with the best of the other children. While they are in Europe a new group of junior talents will continue the performances in Kabul.

All parts of MMCC is taking part the preparations for the Europe Tour. Props are being made by the adult artists; our tailoring workshop is fixing costumes; the painting boys are making the stage decorations, our journalism children have prepared a radio program to bring as a present for Afghan children in Germany and Denmark and the miniature painters have made presents as well. And finally for the Europe class in the afternoon ShirKhan and the journalism children have prepared plenty of colorful posters with pictures from Germany and Denmark
In Afghanistan MMCC’s performances always includes educational messages such as how to wash hands to avoid diarrhea or how to live a peaceful life. In Europe as well the children are bringing small comedy pieces about malaria, handwash and landmines as part of their performance.
