Walking on stilts
"Look at me, I can walk and I can run
" says a proud
nine year old Lalai - balancing on a pair of stilts made out of
wood. Moving around in the yard of Aschiana he's exercising for
an upcoming performance, in which he's going to lead a group of
stilt-dancing boys.
All over the childcenter small boys are walking on their new long
legs while they are singing and clapping. As soon as they become
at eye-level with the adults their attitude changes. "We are
equal now - I am just as tall as you," Lalai continues with
a smile all over his face.
