MMCC is this year starting new activities in Bamyan

Based on MMCC’s experiences from Kabul and the mobile activities in the provinces, MMCC is now planning to start permanent activities in Bamyan. The project includes workshops for children plus training and capacity building of a number of adults from Bamyan in MMCC’s center in Kabul. Implementation of the project is estimated to take two years. An initial pilot project was made in April 2006
The pilot project included a workshop for girls in the mornings and boys in the afternoons.
As part of the project, MMCC’s mobile artists will visit Bamyan three times in 2006 to prepare for the next phases. The aim is to establish a strong community based activity.
The pilot project took place in a ruin that was kindly lent to us by a family member of one of MMCC’s Kabul children
A large number of MMCC’s Kabul-children originally belong to Bamyan. Two of those children participated in the pilot project and assisted to make workshops for the children of Bamyan
